About Us

Rainforest Foods was founded in 2008 to source high quality superfoods from environmentally conscious and ethical suppliers. Rainforest Foods has a philosophy we call "shared earth". We believe that we all share a responsibility to protect the earth and to improve the lives of those who need a helping hand.

We are dedicated to serving our customers and our farmers, but also Nature itself. We feel strongly about supporting the areas of rich biodiversity where our superfoods are nurtured. Our superfoods pass through as few hands as possible, and we work with producers who employ traditional farming techniques and low-intensity production.

Organic Certification

All of our products are certified by the Soil Association, which audits our entire supply chain. This includes where our products are sourced, how they are processed and packaged, and what information we display on our product labels.

The Soil Association is a UK-based charity which promotes and develops sustainable approaches to food, farming and other products. It runs a standard-setting programme to write and modify the rules and regulations for organic production and processing, keeping best practice to the fore. Back in 1967 the Soil Association was the first organisation in the country to draw up a set of aims and aspirational principles for producing food. The organic standards, which closely followed, were the practical application of these principles, and remain so today.

All of our organic products are certified by the Soil Association, which audits our entire supply chain. The certification process includes verifying where our organic products are sourced from, how they are processed, how they are packaged and the information on our labels and packaging. Through its stringent controls, the Soil Association is able to guarantee the organic integrity of the products that it certifies, ensuring that all Soil Association certified products are 100% organic.

Our products go through these rigorous tests, which are even more thorough than the standards set by EU and UK laws, so you can be confident in the highest standards of organic integrity throughout the entire Rainforest Foods range.

Vegan Society Registered

The Vegan Society is dedicated to promoting veganism, and the sustainable production of food that is kinder to animals, the environment and producers. You will find the Vegan Society logo proudly displayed on all of our products.

The Vegan Society is a UK-based educational charity. It has always been at the heart of the global vegan movement and is today the pre-eminent voice of veganism. Since 1944 it has promoted and supported vegan diets and lifestyles.

The Vegan Society developed its Vegan Society Trademark to authenticate foods that are vegan-friendly. It applies strict criteria before certifying a product. These cover both the ingredients and production methods employed to make the food. Vegan Society trademarked products are free of material from vertebrate or multicellular invertebrate creatures. This includes by-products such as milk or eggs. Its development and production has not involved testing on animals. Any genetically modified foods are free from animal gene products. If a food carries the Vegan Society Trademark symbol, it is completely suitable for vegan use. Rainforest Foods products all display this symbol.

Rainforest Concern

Rainforest Concern has more than 20 years experience in rainforest conservation - protecting threatened natural habitats, the biodiversity they contain and the indigenous people who still depend on them for their survival.

For every pack of Rainforest Foods products sold, we will donate funds to Rainforest Concern to purchase one square meter of cloud forest in the Neblina Reserve of Ecuador.
